"Fiona came to my Primary 5 class in September to celebrate The BFG's 30th anniversary. My class were already studying the book in school and were very excited at the prospect of exploring the book in a creative and different way.

The children were given the opportunity to create their own giants whilst playing games. They also used techniques, similar to Roald Dahl, to name their giant. Fiona was able to engage all children, and cater to their own individual learning needs.

Next, children were shown examples of work from various artists, including Van Gogh and asked to create their own "witching hour" in a similar fashion to these artists.

Finally, which the children loved, was to paint in the style of Quentin Blake using sticks. We had to move into the hall to do this and it became very messy, but Fiona was always in control and all the children were engaged in their learning.

The day was a very valuable experience for all the children in my class and also for me. It gave the children the opportunity to use various materials and resources. Fiona had an excellent manner and temperament with the children. She encouraged and motivated all within the class."
